Voluntary Sector Realities: Training for Work in Communities (TWICS) in 2015 - an engagement seminar
Date and time
Location
Description
TWICS has been operating in Southampton for 16 years as a community development training organisation. Over that time it has been at the centre of collaborations between the voluntary, community and statutory sectors. In recent years, seismic changes in funding and government policy have profoundly altered the local voluntary and community landscape.
This seminar will explore the impact of those changes on the voluntary sector in Southampton and TWICS in particular. We are very pleased to welcome Iane Chambers and Barbara Hancock, both from TWICS, to share their insights and experiences with us.
The Seminar will be chaired by Prof Susan Halford, Head of the Department of Sociology, Social Policy and Criminology; Co-Director of the Work Futures Research Centre; and Co-Director of the Web Science Institute. There will be opportunities for discussion and to network.
